ABOUT BREAD PIZZA:

Bread Pizza is one of the quick and easy recipes to make at home using bread, cheese and vegetables for dinner or evening snack. This is a new variation on the traditional pizza because it looks similar to a pizza and has the same toppings, so there is no need to make pizza dough and wait until it is made in the traditional way. If you have bread slices, pizza sauce (or tomato sauce), your favorite toppings and cheese, it will hardly take 15-20 minutes to satisfy your pizza hunger. Follow the step-by-step recipe given below to make this delicious snack for a children's party or evening snack.
 
INGREDIENTS:
  • 6 bread slices (any sandwich bread, whole wheat, brown, white, multi grain)
  • 3 tbsp pizza sauce
  • 1 medium onion, diced (about 1/4 cup)
  • 1 medium tomato, seeded and diced (about 1/4 cup)
  • 1/2 capsicum, cut into cubes (about 1/4 cup)
  • 6 olives, sliced, optional
  • 1 cup grated cheese (pizza cheese or mozzarella cheese)
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano (or mixed Italian herbs or pizza seasoning)
  • 1/4 tsp dried basil (or mixed Italian herbs or pizza seasoning)
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes, optional
  • Oil, for shallow frying (olive oil is best for good flavor)
NOTE: 
You can use either (1/4 tsp oregano + 1/4 tsp basil) or 1/2 tsp mixed Italian herbs or 1/2 tsp pizza seasoning.
 
INSTRCUTIONS:
1. To make the sauce at home, follow this homemade pizza sauce recipe or use readymade sauce or tomato ketchup.
 
2. Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a tawa or frying pan on low medium flame. Place 2-3 bread slices in a hot pan.
 
3. Bake it until the lower surface becomes light golden. Take care that the lower surface does not become dark brown.  When the bottom surface becomes light golden, flip each slice and turn off the gas.
 
4. Take them out in a plate. Spread a little olive oil over the baked surface. This process is optional but will prevent the bread from becoming soggy and will also enhance the flavor.
 
5. Spread 1/2 tablespoon pizza sauce (or as needed) on each bread slice.
 
6. Place chopped onion, chopped tomato, chopped capsicum and sliced ​​olives on it.
 
7. Spread grated pizza cheese or mozzarella cheese on it.
 
8. Top with dried oregano and dried basil (or pizza seasoning or mixed Italian herbs) and red chili flakes.
 
9. Place them in the pan and heat it on low flame.
 
10. Cover the pan with a lid and cook it on low flame.
 
11. Bake it until the cheese melts and the bottom surface becomes crisp. This will take about 2-3 minutes. Take it out in a serving plate and serve with ketchup.
 
TIPS AND VARIATIONS:
  • For variation, use paneer, spinach, shallow fried mushrooms, shallow fried brinjal, boiled corn kernels etc. for toppings.
  • If possible, use olive oil.
  • Instead of cooking the pizzas in a pan, bake them in a pre-heated oven at 350F\180C for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese melts.

Serving Ideas: Serve Bread Pizza with Tomato Ketchup as an evening snack or a light dinner. It can also be served with milkshake or fruit smoothie in children's parties.
